I normally use DVD Decrypter to rip the dvd, then convert with DVDx. I'm recently running a system with hyperthreading and I can't seem to find a coversion app that utilizes hyperthreading. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm...I haven't used Tmpgenc is a while....are you able to rip DVD-->AVI with that now
just use "output" to AVI with tmpgenc plus with the template
settings u want and the enviroment cpu settings checked for
multi-threading, video prefetch and cache.
Why don't you don't just use DV2AVI to frame serve mpeg
direct to tmpgenc? Why the AVI? If you have to edit/filter then
you can use both vdub and avisynth to do this inside the frame serve
chain. -

I'm not sure what frame serving actually is, always wondered when using virtual dub....
Sorry for the n00b like thread going here, I really haven't had much time to reasearch better options than I'm currently using..

CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder). There is even a program
that does everything for you (using CCE and frameserving) similar
to DVDx. See http://www.doom9.org
and look for the guide on DVD2SVCD.
note: CCE is expensive but there is a lite version
that is affordable and not too bad. DVD2SVCD is free/donationware -
