Hope someone can help!!!
I have a pioneer AO5 Firmware Rev. v1.30 Patch:RPC-1 (Region Free) + 2xDVD-R + 12xRip
I use dvdxcopy to burn and rytek 4x dvd-r media
I have no problems burning & I am able to replay back on the pc and my Pioneer DV444 multi region player. However when I try to play on any other settop player it just says error and will not read the disk.
I don't know where to start, is it the hardware, software or the media?
Any help would be really appreciated

Well the first place to start is look for your player (The one that won't play your DVD) in the "Other" section to the left. Click on DVD Players to see if your model is listed. See what media it supports. If it supports DVD-R then you can try different brand of media, try DVD Shrink with a burning program like Nero or Record Now to back-up your DVD, instead of X Copy. Set-top player compatibility is always going to be a problem unless you buy a player (new) that states it right on the unit.

Thanx for the reply,
The player that will not play my discs will play discs from other burners but I don't know what software has been used. The type of disc's used were bulkpaq which I believe are very low quality. I have tried my discs on two other machines - the new philips settop player and the pioneer dv 454 the replacement model to my home unit both with no success.
I thought it maybe the burner but I will give dvd shrink a try. In the mean time any other suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanx again
