    Hello.
    When i use SVCD2DVD version 1.5.1383.35461 to a movie with MPEG-2 480x576 25fps, Layer-2 48000Hz 128kbps. I get one file VTS_01_0.VOB 16kb in my VIDEO_TS folder.
I encode my movies in TMPGenc and because I use 48000hz SVCD2DVD have skipped the audio resampling before.
Have tried to reinstall but it seems impossible to start upp the program without having to upgrade.
Here's my complete log file and the info.xml from one movie, looks the same for the rest.

can you use MakeSample.exe in the SVCD2DVD folder to cut me a 10MB (or so) sample and FTP it to ftp://svcd2dvd:Upload@ftp.svcd2dvdmpg.com:7676/

    create a folder & upload.

Let me know when you've put it there.

Also (and this may be quicker) can you up the xml files.

    Thanks

I processed the sample - without problem. See in that folder. Did you try running SVCD2DVD on the sample (remove the _sample suffix)?

I checked the "show log file post processing" and ended up with the same result as before. Only this time I got a huge m2v file.

I haven't got much time to look at it now but earlier on I tried using the program and got the same kind or result:

    Type: VCD
    Horizontal Res: 0
    Standard: PAL
    Audio SampleRate: 0

while trying to convert SVCDs to DVD and just ended up with a single file in the Video folder. I created a DVD with similar files last week and it went OK so maybe this is the result of a recent change?

    Cheers,
    Simon.

On my system, yes. WMP can't play SVCDs but PowerDVD does so there must be one. Also, as I said, SVCD2DVD worked fine for me last week but trying to burn a similar bunch of files yesterday, it failed with the same problem others seem to be experiencing. I'll have another play with it tonight.

  15. Now I have reinstalled Microsoft.net framework and after reading yf2001usa post I reinstalled the mpeg-2 codec.
I tried the sample again and now SVCD2DVD is doing its thing. The output in the video_TS folder is OK. (I also checked "skip resample step").

But the processing problem still remains.

I have a file called vcdxminfo.exe (sorry for not responding to that before).

Tried to upload the log file to your FTP due to the amount of text but it was down, so here it comes:

Ok I have release a fix to address the following:

    Type: VCD
    Horizontal Res: 0
    Standard: PAL
    Audio SampleRate: 0

This is the cause of the other issues
one file VTS_01_0.VOB 16kb in my VIDEO_TS folder.
(it would seem that a numeric conversion behaves differntly on different PCs!!!)

Thanks for the detailed reports & testing - it make a big difference when trying to uncover these .Net quirks.....

Finally, (as i can't replicate this on any of my machines), can someone confirm this fix?

  19. Sad to say it's still bad here - I just fired up SVCD2DVD, let it download the latest update, set it up with the files I'm trying to burn but still get the same

message for each file and the process ends far too quickly, leaving that one 16k file in VIDEO_TS again.

I then tried it with 4 music videos and bizarrely 2 of them worked while 2 of them failed. Looking at their properties in Ulead's DVD Movie Factory, they look identical, however I did notice that both the 2 that failed, and the original files, are all mono, whereas the ones that worked are stereo - a clue perhaps? (This time it compiled VIDEO_TS OK but the failed files weren't there.)

I'm running it on a P4-2400 (400 FSB)/768MB RIMM/40GB spare disk space, in case that helps.

    Simon.

    i.e. 4 music videos, first 2 are mono and failed, second 2 are stereo and worked, but all are PAL SVCD - MPEG-2 Video, Field B - 24 bit - 480x576 - Variable Bit Rate / MPEG Audio Layer 2 - 44100Hz - 16 bit - Stereo - 224kbps bitrate.

What I get is a VIDEO_TS folder that looks like:

    D:\TEST\VIDEO_TS>dir
Volume in drive D is Scratch
    Volume Serial Number is BEC3-0241

    Directory of D:\TEST\VIDEO_TS

    2 Dir(s) 29,367,173,120 bytes free

i.e. with only the 2 successful videos but everything else as it should be. Also, in the original folder I have _info.xml and -0.m2v files left for the ones that failed, but _DVD.mpg files for the ones that worked.

I guessing here but and you change that ampersand (&) in the name of the first two mpgs. It is shafting the xml file loading. Thereafter give it a try. If it works I'll get a fix together.

    Thanks for the info.

  25. Ampersands it is!

I also had them in the name of the folder I was originally trying to burn so that explains that too.

I got the same idea looking at the log file but my supper arrived and distracted me before I could test it.

    Well done
    Simon.

  27. Not at all, you can't think of everything and I'm only too glad to help in the development of such a great and useful program.
