  1. Hi dudes

I'm using Dvd-lab for author my dvds , at least I'm trying to. The problem is when I press play to preview the video , the audio do not play . When I imported audio and video everything looked fine . But the audio just isnt playing. I'm guessing is some kind of codec problem .
    Could anyone pllease help meeeeee?

    Thanks

    there's nothing wrong.

DVD Lab does not have the capacity to preview audio, just video.

if you need to check it, compile your project and play it from your hard drive using a player like PowerDVD.

from what I've read on the DVD Lab forum, it would take a lot of re-writing to add the functionality - you're talking about taking two distinct streams and previewing them in sync, that's not as easy as it sounds.

  6. Does that mean most author programs don't have audio?

The only function dvd-lab doesn't have that I want. Audio prevewing. I transfer live concerts from vhs to dvd, and I need audio cues to make chapter points.

  8. I need audio preview too. But you can try opening your video in Windows media player for example and see the exact chapter point .

  9. "you're talking about taking two distinct streams and previewing them in sync" If Winows Media Player can preview audio and video why can't author progs? Do the expensive one's do it?

  10. First I capture in avi. The avi file has audio and video and the same lenght of the demuxed files. So I preview the avi file in the Wmp

  11. A lot of the authoring programs that do audio preview do a "behind the scenes" quick mux of the audio and video. This in itself can cause some issues.

can you load an .ac3 stream and a .mp2 stream simultaneously in WMP and play it?

I rarely use muxed streams in DVD Lab - I'm working with discreet audio and video streams, not muxed mpegs.
