  1. I was just wondering if theres a one click (like IC7) program out there that will use CCE as the encoder?

Well he wants DVD output so DVD2SVCD won't work. DVD2DVDR will but I believe it requires Scenarist. If you don't have this program, after all it is extremely expensive, then I suppose you could halt the process after encoding and then author in the dvd authoring software of your choice. Also, DVD2DVDr will not preserve any of the extras.

The same goes for Reauthorist, which is a little more complicated but can give you an exact 1:1 copy of the disk. No matter what method you choose its the authoring that presents the real challenge. If you've ever encoded SVCDs or VCDs before than you pretty much already know most of the other steps.

Sorry to break it to you, but for DVD output there are defiitely not any programs available that will use CCE and operate anything like the typical 1 button apps (IC.) When you use CCE you have to demux all the vobs and re-encode them. Once you do this you have to re-author them and that definitely takes more than 1 click.

  4. Well i think for the time you spend doing all of that work just for a movie, ide rather just go buy the dvd...I work at Best Buy so i get a nice discount....But it would be nice if you could use CCE as the encoder...Ive done about 200 dvds2svcd and the Q was almost perfect...So thats why i asked...I would like to keep the menus and out takes stuff like that...I guess i will keep using IC cause it seem to have the best Q and a lot of control and very easy to use..But Thanx for the info

I think you misunderstood. We are talking about backing up legally owned DVDs. If you are wanting information to backup dvds so that you don't have to buy them, then you are at the wrong forum.

The processes I listed do not take that long. I spend about 5 mins setting up the program, let it run overnight, and then spend another 5 mins authoring. All together it takes as much manual time and effort as it would take to use something like IC. Its true the encoding can take many hours, but I'm sure you knew this since you have used CCE in the past. The time factor with these processes is in learning how to do it. Once you've got that down, you can knock out backups in no time at all.

DVD2SVCD is awsome for DVDs, I've been using it for a long time now. Its fully supports it. But you need either to manually import the files into an authoring app or have Scenarist also.
