DVD9 to DVD5 help

Ok here is the story folks & I need help.
1st of all I own 2 stand alone DVD players, Apex AD-500w & Classic DVD102. I have in the past used DVD X Copy & DVD X Copy Express to burn DVD+R/+RW's & have always had good working DVD's. Now the probelm is this. I am currently trying to convert DVD9's to a DVD+R/+RW following both the doom9.org guide & the afonic guide for DVD-9 To DVD±R using DVD Shrink. I have tried both DVD Shrink 2.3 & DVD Shrink 3.0 Beta 5. & I was doing the movie only, no extras. I then use Nero 5.5.9 to burn my DVD, (& yes i followed this as well: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=183426 )
DVD burns fine & plays fine on my PC, when I put in my stand alone players I get disc error. If any one could please shed some light on this for me, I been at this for 2 weeks. Please, any & all help is excepted.

Tried making an image with ImgTool Classic?

Or try updating to the latest version of Nero (5.5.10.54) as there were some DVD compatibility issues with some earlier versions.

I upgraded to Nero 6, works great thanks for the help
