  1. I'm looking for the secret menu on the Maestro DVX-1201 that will allow Macrovision and region settings be tweaked.

I wrote to Neuston directly and they admit there is a menu but they couldn't tell me how to access it due to legal reasons.

So, does anybody out there know? I would love to disable Macrovision so I can watch DVD movies at 720p or 1080i, just to see how they look. Right now I can only watch movies at 480p. I'm not talking about DVDR backups, I'm referring to the original DVD movie. I have tried a few backups that have macrovision disabled and after switching to 720p and 1080i I do see a better picture quality in some cases. It depends on the movie (at least for me).

So if anyone out there knows anything, please post! Thanks!!

  3. Neuston sent me this info...

    Disabling Macrovision:

    1. Remove all discs from the tray
    2. Press "410407" on the remote
    3. Press "Timesearch"
    4. Press "Title"
    5. Press "07"
    6. Turn off Macrovision and it should work now.
