Yes. It's possible. You need to strip the audio streams from the VOB files on the DVD. They'll be in pieces, but you can reassemble them and then convert to whatever file type you want after that.

Vobedit can pull the audio from each.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts.

  3. After you demux with VOBEDIT or DVDDecrypter then use AC3Tool to convert to WAV/MP3.Another option(which is easier and allows you to select clips instead of chapters) is to use DVDx and in Output select AVI and Store to WAV,it will auto. demux.

  5. You could also make "DVD-Audio" disc... you could use stil pictures with DD 5.1 sound. You can add about 150-200 DD 5.1 songs to one DVDR. Obviously you will need DVD-player to play those. 8)

I have guide for that but it's in finnish... 8)

  7. You guys make things so hard
If all he wants is the audio, like an mp3, capture just audio

Take a program like Music Match that will capture audio in and connect your DVD player audio to your line in on the soundcard. Start music match or whatever and record!

The progam don't know the source, Cassettes, 8tracks, VHS, Beta, DVD, or even 78rpms, It just knows Line in has sound

So far I never had any problems capturing audio this way. Not something I do alot though. I did convert many of Cassettes to CD this way, also I made a few CD's from VHS sound tracks the same way.

And of course, so far, I have never had a audio protection problem this way either.

  8. I don't think Adder_78 meant the guide was not finished, I think he meant the language IS Finnish.

  9. Bhola,

    Just head over to http://www.doom9.org
    Click on guides->Ripping->DVD Decrypter Guide

    Ripping
This will explain how to rip (Demux) the audio off of the DVD. If you only want the audio then use IFO mode. Click on the Stream Processing tab and check the Enable Direct Stream Processing and the Demux. Uncheck all of the streams except for the 0x80 stream (this is normally the 6ch english track, you can select other tracks if you want). If it is a DVD Audio disc then I suggest going back to the input tab and ripping each chapter one by one. That way each song is a seperate AC3 file that you can process seperately and they will all be cut at the right points.

    Converting to MP3
Go back to the Guide page, then Audio, then look for AC3/MP2/MP3/WAV -> MP3 using headac3he

Pretty self explanitory here except I would use the stereo setting instead of surround 2 and you might want to select downsample to 44.1 kHz if you ever plan to convert these to a CD for use on a regular CD player.

Those are not really DVD-Audio... just still-images with DD 5.1... so it will play in all DVD-players. The guide is here:
    http://www.mpegit.net/dvd_audio.php
But it's in finnish (language) and I dont have time to translate it (maybe I do it next week). That is quite complicated guide it uses DVDmaestro...

I've made some of those. Fairly simple to make - just time consuming. Used photoshop/paint to make title jpgs (one for album, one for each song), then use tmgpenc to create mpg2 from song jpg and song mp2, merge all song mpg2s to create album, bring all albums info MF2 (or something) and create album menu and chapter points for each song. Test on RW and if everything is cool burn to an R.

I put 16 Pink Floyd albums on one DVD. The TV only needs to be on to select an album or when you want to know what is playing (although a REAL Pink Floyd fan would always know what song is playing and what album it is from).
