  6. You don't really give enough info.

    A faster is not always a better answer. For example, a transcoder is faster than any encoder if you go from mpeg2 to mpeg2. Faster but bad quality is not a good thing. If I cut an encode from 12hrs to 4hrs it really doesn't matter. I sleep at night and then go to work. So only if I do batches or I go to say 1hr would I say wow.

    What do you use now? TMPGEnc. What have you looked at? CCE $70, MainConcept $150? How about a DVD recorder? Capture + Encode + Burn in real time.

    How fast do you want?
    I mean it in the nicest way.
