A strange thing occurs since V0.0.9.

You specify a specific video size, in my case 352 * 400, Autosize 16:9 for example, and the resulting mpeg doesn't match this size. In my case, in become 720 * 404.

Source is 720*576, export from imovie in Expert settings - DVCPRO format.

It seems to me that this problem came already with previous version of ffmpeg, but only for fast mpeg1 encoding.

Exact control on output size is needed, for example to get a resolution that will match exactly my 16:9 TV and avoid a bad ratio for the image.

    Bug or feature ?

  2. The image size used for encoding is the one entered in the image size fields. However when you open a source file, its size is automatically entered to the image size fields. So you should first open your source file, then modify the image size as needed.

    Unfortunately, this doesn't works.

I'm sure, because I drop the file once.
After this, I made a try with one resolution.
Next another try (since the produced MPEG didn't correspond), next another, and another. (Each time adjusting parameters... one at time).

Please try. I insist : this is a new behavior since v0.0.9.
In 0.0.8a it still works perfectly.

  4. OK, please describe exactly the process generating the issue so as I can repeat exactly in the same way.

After private email exchange between Major and me, it appears that size is finaly correct.
It is Quicktime Player who report an incorrect size.

To verify this fact, I simply drag the generated mpeg file on ffmpeg icon, as Major suggested me.
In the "info area", the correct size (the one I specified for conversion) IS shown.

However, it is strange that this occurs every time with V0.0.9, and never with previous version.
