I'm checking with the 0.8d version, just for basic encoding for home videos to mpeg.

Now I'm trying to do all the process with ffmepgx. I use the ffmpegx engine to encode, and demux + remux with tmpgenc to ensure dvd playing. (The ffmpegx encoder works fantastic, but it's incompatible with my dvd player)

I'll get the videos with a capture card with the PC. I'll never with the same mode, just to check how to improve the capture. Then, I'll left in the mac and encode with ffmpegx.

Well. I've the same problem with the two last avi...no sync with audio and video in the dvd? I cannot understand, because the first two that I encode to mpeg1 has no problem!.

    Any suggestions?

  2. Update to version 0.0.9.

    I have checked this:

-It is not fully VCD compliant : depending on the player, you get randomly not in-sync sound, which re-syncs if you press "pause" and "play" again

    ....
    - I saw the sound is 48000 hz instead of 44100 which is in
the standard : by demuxing and remuxing with a 44100 hz mp2, does it make it VCD compliant ?

    - If source is a DVD then 48Khz leads to better sync with the ffmpeg resampler, though not standard, many players accept it.

It could be a solution to demuxing and remuxing with a 44100 hz mp2?

  5. The best solution is to re-encode it with 0.0.9. If you want to fix previously encoded material, please email me to major4@mac.com with details on your files, formats, process output, etc. and I'll try to help you.
