I have been able to successfully encode a divx and srt subtitle file to a svcd using tmpgenc. however, the final size overshot the estimates given by tmpgenc. The srt file is only 23k, but the final size of the svcd was in excess of the maximum 80 min cdr size by a lot more than 23k. Can't remember by how much, but probably a couple of mbs. I used 2 pass vbr.
When encoding a .srt subtitle file onto a svcd, does the srt part of the output svcd take contribute more to the output svcd han the original size of the srt file? If so, is there a way to calcuale this ahead of time.
