Where did you get the file from? Is it something you downloaded? If so, you may be out of luck. Corrupted files are rampant on the P2P networks. Read this thread and see if anything there can help you.

Basically, if WinRAR says that part (assuming is a muli-part archive) says its corrupt, and the tools in RAR can't help, then you're screwed

All you can do it try again, maybe with the same source, or if you can with a different source, that has the same file

I have found, that if you get a RAR file, and let whatever program downloaded it, resumed a partial download, this can introduce enough error to corrupt that archive

Again, all you can do, is try again

This has happened with me, so just tried again with the same file, same source, and the 2nd time around it worked, but this is not a guaranteed method

The CRC is there for a reason, and it works very well

Most people don't put a recovery record in the archive, as it adds to the overall size, plus I think its just basic laziness as well on their part, as WinRAR doesn't screw up when creating the archives, so reliability is left to where you get that archive from

If the transfer screws up, it will corrupt the file, also, if you can, ask the person who has the source to extract the archive. I've done this before, and its turned out that their source is corrupt, but they didn't realise, again basic laziness, can't be bothered to check attitude

You could look and see if there are any parity files so that you can fix the corrupt chunks.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
