oh well, my computer is fast enough to make pretty quick work of CCE anyway.
Thanks for taking the time to check it out, jarvis1781, I appreciate it.

    Reloaded went perfect for me.

Ripped in file mode with Decrypter.
    Compressed using IC7
    Burned with Decrypter on RitekGO4

    Plays perfectly. Looks great.

This surprised me too. I listened to my original before I backed up, and the sound mix does not make as extensive use of the rear surround chanels that I would expect from a scifi action film. Great film though!

Perhaps that explains the lack of interest on Warner Bros part in not putting 5.1 DTS on this DVD because if you ask me it seems like there should have been room. As I recall the total size of DISC 1 is only about 7GB so a 5.1 DTS track wouldn't have taken up more than 1GB (I don't think so) and since I believe a dual layer DVD maxs out at about 8GB then there would have been room for a 5.1 DTS track.

I thought the lack of a DTS audio track was a disapointment. DTS does have noticibly better audio quality. There was certainly room for it considering the lack of extra's. I would guess at some point, a deluxe 2 disk set will come out with lots of extra's, and maybe DTS. Sorry about my above post. Still learning to use quotes!

  7. I chose some new tools to do my copy.

First used Ford Windstar version 2000 to get to the Hard Drive, then used Local VideoStore version 744.3528 to transcode both disks one to one with the movie and all the extras. Installed trial version of Canadian Cache version $25.88 and burned to 25X DVD (brand unknown, unfortunately!).

It only took about 20 minutes for BOTH DISKS AT THE SAME TIME!!

Surprising, the quality is identical to the original. I can also play on every single DVD player I put it in. Even my Sony DRU-500 was able to play them. Imagine that!

    Ain't technology wonderful!!
