  1. Im just messing around with ffmpegX 0.0.9 and i was trying to convert an episode of the family guy to SVCD fortmat. Everything starts off great, but at some point things just get WAYYYY out of sync. I dont know why. When i look at the process view i see that it keeps switching from telecine correction to no telecine correction. I dont have the exact output on hand but will run it again and paste it in here.

Basically how can i get it back in sync? is there a way to make it always read the file with 3:2 pulldown?

Thanks again for the GREAT product!

  3. well i tryed encoding again, but this time i used an old method I saw on a site of ripping one episode with OSeX and then using Quicktime to decode. Sound was in sync, but the video had lots of jumpy blocks in it. On further review, when i play the DVD in DVD Player the same jumps and stuff are noticed, so i dont know what the deal is.. here is what it says over the open box when i just drop the VOB onto it:

    mpeg-2, size: 720x480, 23.976 fps w/3:2, 9800 kbps. AUDIO: ac3, 48000Hz, 192 kbps.

dont know if that helps at all.

  4. OK, and are you encoding with "Decode with Quicktime", or "Decode with mplayer"?

Is it the family guy DVD set volume 1 you own? I have had the biggest problem working with those files. The only program I get a synced file is Mpeg2decX .19. ry converting to MOV, then making an SVCD. There should be no sync issues what so ever.

  6. I have tried decoding with both. Decoding with quicktime gives me a Synced mpg, but the video has problems, it seems to have little glitches (stuff in the frame jumps). When i am decoding with mplayer, i get sync for the first few min then it gets all off.

Yes this is Family Guy Volume 1, and i can not get mpeg2decX.19 to work on my machine. It doesnt open, and i can not even compile the source to make one on the computer, so i dont know what the deal is there.

  7. And what about decoding with Quicktime and encoding with NTSC (29.97) framerate?

trying that now.. i will let you know how it turns out.

  9. Actually with the newest quicktime update the encoding goes smoothly. Everything is in sync, and the video looks good.
