I've read through this entire thread and have 2 questions.
1. Weekipoo: Have you tried to play this DVD in a standalone player, or back in your original PC (you probably already made mention of this, but am late for work and didnt' notice it.)
2. As to why he can not download the program, I assume that he means by I cannot download until next is that he is away on business and cannot download until next week?
3. Weekipoo: Where did you learn such manners!?!??! You obviously aren't from US.
Cheers, and I really hope you get this worked out. -
to clarify my situation re:downloading, i am unable to download the diagnostic programs advised as i am away on business in munich until friday next week..i do have my laptop with me (for what its worth)
but do not have an internet connection..all of my communication is being made via an office pc.
i did check the +rw dvd recording i made on my home philips dvdr70 firstly on the original recorder(fine), then on a second dvd home player (fine)..i then tried the disk in my ibm T20 thinkpad/win dvd/ toshiba SDC2302 dvd drive, and it didnt work !
i checked the ibm site and it would appear that there isnt an upgrade to my dvd rom
again i would appeal to all you gurus great and good ..do you have any great ideas to get me up and running..?
i'm english....but i think we (english) could learn from almost all other countries better manners..
finally
this is a town full of losers we’re pulling out of here to win -
DVDInfoPRO wont make your laptop DVD-ROM play plus media.
A firmware update could...but I dont think one existYou stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off. -
appreciated...i will check the properties of the drive , just to confirm my worst fears.
i intend to cart my home burnt dvd around the computer stores at the weekend and try to find a compliant laptop ...i may have to go down the laptop upgrade path...or return the philips dvdr70 -
It's likely that your DVD-ROM can't read DVD+R/RW. I have an IBM Thinkpad T40 and encountering the same problem as yours.
However, no problem reading a DVD-R/RW.
Why don't your try popping in a DVD-R/RW and see what happens.
Cheers. -
at last a fellow sufferer !
i dont have a means to record -r dvd discs, ive just bought the philips home dvd recorder r70 to enable me to watch recorded tv stuff whilst away on my T20, as per my post at the beginning of the week i wondered if anyone had a work around i could use keeping my present equipment, or whatever component change software/hardware would work.
thanks for the interest
