    I also noticed something, defense...

You were very critical throughout this thread, but you never had the sack to offer your own predictions. You just blasted me and everyone else.

It's very easy to criticize picks AFTER the fact, but I will take no shame in not predicting NFL games correctly. The NFL is all about parity, all about anyone being able to beat anyone.

I'm not into gambling myself, other than office football pools, but do enjoying picking games for fun. I've had a good deal of success over the years playing in those things, though it's usually only $50 winnings.

I don't think you or anyone else can knock my football knowledge because it has been my favorite hobby for 25 years and there's not much I've forgotten that I've seen or read.

In the future you should reserve your post-game criticism to yourself unless you are willing to offer your own picks BEFORE the games.

Normally I wouldn't respond to a post like yours, but I'm in a pretty bad mood with the way the Dolphins game went today.

By the way, speaking of the Marlins that you seem to support, I hope they get swept the next four games by the Yankees, and I hope they disband the franchise or move the heck out of that stadium. They have NOTHING...NOTHING...to do with that stadium's existence and since they have played there I've seen a pile of Dolphins get hurt, seriously, in fact, playing on that dirt infield. Also some opposing players, I suppose. Joe Robbie built that stadium with basically NO HELP from anyone because he wanted a better stadium for his football team. The Marlins are nothing but a sorry, money-losing franchise that will never have fans unless they are in the playoffs. Baseball is not a real sport and no NFL franchise should have to share a stadium with a team from that screwed-up sport.

I still can't believe your claim that San Diego has been competitive...what a laugh!

  2. @ phinsfan..first let me say that my predictions wouldn't mean a thing because my whole point was to prove that with a number of picks like that you will LOSE..AND LOSE BIG TIME! And fortunately, someone proved my point..and that happened to be you. I SAID THAT ANYONE WHO POSTS THOSE PICKS "BEFORE" HAND...NOT AFTERHAND..BUT "BEFORE" HAND WOULD look STUPID because they'd be FILLED WITH LOSSES! And thanks...you proved me right. Post your picks for the last NINE WEEKS of the regular season each week on here and you'll be wrong EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I'm saying that BEFORE HAND as well. So print out the post.

As far as the fins go...they suck..always have and always will. You don't know shit about football pal..I don't care if its been your passion for 90 years.

Just your idiotic comment about the Chargers not being competitive shows that. Take a look at this link fool. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=sdg

Scroll down to the bottom and look at the scores of all the Chargers games...they lost the first game of the season AT K.C , WHICH IS THE BEST OVERALL TEAM IN THE LEAGUE..and I'm not even talking about records. The Chiefs do it offenseively, Defensivelly, and on Special Teams. A very dangerous team..but their D will cost them a shot at the Big Dance eventually. Bottom line is that San Diego kept that very game close while K.C has basically blown opponents out left and right. At K.C the Chargers lost by less then Two Touchdowns and the game was closer then that. Take a look at the game against Jacksonville..the Chargers were in that until the end..but just couldn't do enough to muster out the victory....oh...how about vs. Oakland....AGAIN AT OAKLAND...THEY LOSE A GAME THEY WERE UP BY 17 POINTS IN...AND THEY LOSE IN O.T.

You don't know WTF you are talking about..the facts are right there..i.f that isn't competitive...what the hell do you call competitive..the sorry ass Dolphins who are the Bengals of the Post Season? The Fins are the biggest joke in sports when it comes to the playoffs....I happen to know two former dolphin players IGNORAMUS who will tell you the same thing. Of course, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that. You do remember that 38-3 blow out @ Denver a few years back..huh? OH....or how bout that real "COMPETITIVE' CLOSE GAME WHEN THE JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS EMBARRASSED THE SHIT OUT OF THE SORRY ASS FISH BY PUTTING UP...SIXTY...COUNT EM...SIXTY POINTS! LMAO...actually..they put up 62 IN WHOMPING THE SORRY ASS FISH 62-7!!! AND THAT WAS WITH MARINO IN A PLAYOFF GAME! That was beyond sickening..made the Broncos-Niners Superbowl look CLOSE AT 55-10. But I guess getting your ass smashed by 55 points in a playoff game is COMPETITIVE.. Shut your mouth and learn the sport...what the hell have you been watching for 25 years...the grass grow?

  3. How old are you? I'm guessing 15?

You're right about one thing, it's useless to predict NFL games. Still, I just offered it up for fun. Also, I was mistaken in trusting the post for home/away information; I misunderstood the game site on about 2-3 games.

I'm not going to argue with you about Miami being a postseason loser, although I remember a time when Miami was 5-0 in AFC Championship games. They have since lost a couple of them, and of course been a failure in the playoffs since.

HOWEVER, the Dolphins, the last time I checked this, had the best overall record in professional team sports, not just the NFL, but MLB, NHL, NBA too, since the 1970 NFL merger, which was the same year Shula came to the team. They have had only two losing seasons since 1969, in 1976 (6-8) and 1988 (6-10). That's just not bad.

The Chargers, again...they have not been competitive this season. Barely losing at Oakland does not impress me because the Raiders are now a 6-10 type team until (and if) they turn things around. The Raiders are just a little too old and are missing some key guys. The Chargers got blown out by the same Ravens team you just blasted. Apparently letting Seau and Harrison go is hurting them more than they thought. Also, they lost to a Jags team that is not good at all.

KC is probably not the best team in the league despite their record. They have a lot of holes and a general lack of talent. They shouldn't have won the Denver game (at home) and Green Bay let them come back by playing soft with the lead. Ahh...the Prevent defense. Tennessee is probably the best team in the league. They also have some talent shortcomings but they have the league's best player in McNair, and their coach just gets them to win. Jeff Fisher is the closest thing to Parcells out there.

I remember the Jags game, sure. Big deal. I remember a lot of bad losses. 34-0 to New England in 1980 was probably as bad a loss as there ever was, and nobody remembers that one. A Monday-nighter against Buffalo in 1981, when they were down 31-7 at the half. 1981 again...choking against the Jets to lose by a point. 1982...getting pushed around by a big Redskins o-line in the Super Bowl. 1984...losing to the Raiders simply because they were the Raiders and Miami couldn't beat them then. 1984 again...watching hopelessly as Joe Montana and the Niners kept the ball pretty much the entire 2nd quarter in the Super Bowl. 1986...getting absolutely smoked on opening day by San Diego, giving up 50 points. I remember NBC switiching to that game from the 1:00 game just as some guy named Gary Anderson turned the corner and literally jumped over a Miami defender and into the end zone to make it 17-0. 1986...revenge game against SF? Blown out at home, 31-16. 1988...getting smashed at home against Buffalo 31-6 on MNF. 1990...couldn't stop the Bills in the playoffs. 1992...couldn't block the Bills in the AFC Championship game. 1993...piles of injuries down the stretch help the team lose 5 straight after starting 9-2. 1994...can't stop Natrone Means as San Diego comes back to beat them in the playoffs. 1995...just a bad team. Blown out by the Bills in the playoffs, again. 1996...rebuilding, encouraging. 1997...defense gets better, still rebuilding. 1998...oh yes, the Broncos game. Denver was just really good that year, and not having Jason Taylor and Daryl Gardener did not help. 2000...the Jets debacle on MNF. 30-7 in the 4th quarter, blown. 2001...not a good team really. No chance against Baltimore in the playoffs. 2002...the bad loss at NE to end the year. A big-time choke that I might consider the worst loss ever considering the talent of the Dolphins and the fact that they pushed the Pats around the entire game.

So yes, I remember the bad losses...all of them. I also remember a lot of good wins that I won't share with you because you're probably not interested.

Things change in the NFL. Last week Fred Taylor, Tony Brackens, etc. were still playing for the Jags and they lost to a Dolphins team that had many of the same players from the 1999 game.

Nothing you say can change the fact that you're being ultra-critical and very hostile despite never offering your own picks. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Who is your favorite team, by the way? One of the 6-0 teams, probably. KC, Minnesota? Perhaps Carolina at 5-1? Just guessing because of the Marlins bandwagon seat you have.

You seem like a bright kid. I'm impressed with your spelling. Once puberty is over with you'll lose some of your anger.

I still don't see how you can say the Chargers have been competitive. They lost their first three games by 13, 24, and 14 points. Then they lost to two sorry teams by close margins. THAT IS NOT BEING COMPETITIVE. 0-5 IS NOT COMPETITIVE.

You can ask me what you want, but I'd still like to get an answer from you. Who is your favorite team? Another...how long have you had the "Marlins #1" or whatever it is under your username? You don't have to answer the age question because I already know. Oh yeah...who are these two former Dolphins you claim to know? I got a kick out of that one.

Have a good day in school tomorrow.

    Something else...

I'm not sure you can say the Chargers have no talent despite their UNCOMPETITIVE play. On offense alone, they have Tomlinson, one of the best RB's in the league, David Boston, a stud WR, and the once-highly-touted Drew Brees on offense. That's the old trio on offense...ala Aikman/Irvin/Smith or Montana/Rice/Craig or even Griese/Warfield/Csonka. I honestly don't think Brees is very good but a lot of people consider him to be a future Pro-Bowler. Their defense is hurting because of, I would guess, a lack of leadership and experience. Again, Seau and Harrison are missed.

  8. @ phinsAss....i'm watching the Marlins game now...unfortunately we are down 6...but that's no biggie..i've always been a Marlins fan..and always lived in Miami. I've never liked the Dolphins although i've always been a fan of all the other home teams in all sports. You make yourself look dumber and dumber with every post. You really are a complete ass. First....there is no such word as "UNCOMPETITIVE" you jackass. An old shit like you doesn't know how to even speak English..very sad to say the least.

As far as 0-5 goes..record means nothing. You're the asswipe who would say that the Jets at 1-4 and the Titans at 2-5 last year are shitty too. You don't understand the game you moron. I've already made that apparent. But i'll keep making it apparent. In addition, comeptitive has nothing to do with the score. That just shows that you're even MORE OF A JACKASS IGNORAMUS...LOL. A team ASSWIPE could be tied with anothr team for 58 minutes, and WITH TWO BIG PLAYS one team could win by TWO TOUCHDOWNS. Score means nothing...the Chargers have been in ALL THEIR GAMES with the exception of ONE...but your too much of an idiot to admit that.

You were wrong..I proved it...and you keep coming with meaningless shit.

Since you seem to know SO MUCH ABOUT FOOTBALL ....how bout you answer thesse three basic questions. ...I'll start with very BASIC stuff..even a moron like you should be able to handle.

    1) What does "TRIPS" refer to?

    2) If a coach says at ANY LEVEL..even POP WARNER....if a play is ABSOLUTELY GOING TO "ZERO" ..who gets the ball? A moron like you who's been watching football..for what...25 years..should know that simple answer

    3) What exactly is the meaning of a COVER 2?

Let's start there ignoramus..this is gonna be fun.

  9. First let's have you answer the remainder of my questions from earlier. What's your favorite football team? Who are these two Dolphins you're so chums with (can't waith for that one)?

And come on! You've been a Marlins fan forever! I just don't believe that.

One more thing, you've called me names about 20 times in this thread. You are in violation of the Forum Rules:

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed).
    1. Trips -- receivers line up on the same side of the field.
    2. There is no 'zero'. QB is 1, RB is 2, FB is 3, etc.
    3. The Cover 2...nothing complex, just both safeties playing generally deep, providing backup for the corners. Dungy isn't the first coach to do this but he has definitely made it popular again.

  10. Tone down the personal attacks or the thread will be closed and warnings issued.

If someone doesn't agree with what you think about football or the team you support it doesn't warrant a personal attack. Their has been some useful and interesting commentary on football in this thread so it would be a shame to close the topic but if need be it will be locked.

  11. I went ahead and reported your post, defense. I just think you have a lot of growing up to do and shouldn't post in a forum like this until you do so.

I'm done with this thread, both reading and posting, and I wish you luck in the future. It seems that you'll need it. I guess I don't really care if the Marlins win or lose, but I do hope that they get their own stadium in the VERY NEAR future. They don't belong in Joe Robbie.

    Dale

  12. @PhinsFan..what a completely pathetic scrub you are. Crying to the mods after you start talking shit about Puberty..etc...lmao..you are one total fruitcake scrub.

As for your answers....QUESTION 1: WRONG...it's THREE receivers on the same side of the field...close but no cigar.

QUESTION 2: COMPLETELY WRONG...THERE IS ABSOLUTELY A ZERO...and YES..it IS YOU...but there is ANOTHER ZERO....VERY SAD DALE....25 years and you don't know the answer? Shall I post it or wait to see if someone other then myself... WHO REALLY KNOWS football can answer the question?

Question 3: You are PARTLY CORRECT...so HALF OUTTA THREE AIN'T BAD FOR someone like you...but how bout telling me what happens when a team has four receivers...all go deep....what happens to the two safeties...which receivers do they fly to? Dungy isn't the first coach to do this? WTF are you even saying? All teams play a COVER 2 AND DUNGY IS NOT the coach for making this "POPULAR" again. Your very sad Dale. lmao Answer the BASIC QUESTIONS so I can bury you with the advanced stuff.

I'm done with this thread, both reading and posting, and I wish you luck in the future. It seems that you'll need it. I guess I don't really care if the Marlins win or lose, but I do hope that they get their own stadium in the VERY NEAR future. They don't belong in Joe Robbie.
Of course you're done with the thread....because I finished you off with your own idiocy. Make sure you have a SLIGHT CLUE when you talk about knowing something for 25 years...stick to Chemistry. I'm sure you're better at that. As far as the Marlins go...tons of teams share stadiums with baseball teams .....you know that Daley....as far as JOE ROBBIE GOES..the stadium hasn't been called Joe Robbie in at least 4 years...where the hell have you been? Oh yea..watching the Grass Grow. The Dolphins are the team that doesn't deserve to play in "PRO PLAYER STADIUM" ...they need to throw them back in the Orange Bowl!

  13. Tried to get this topic back on course but alas, it failed. If you wish you can start a new topic but keep it clean this time.

Anyway, topic closed and defense formally warned.

On a side note to defense, don't edit out a warning.

I didn't think you could. I thought that once you received a warning, your post became "locked" and un-editable.
