Hi,
I just puchased a Phillips DVDDR 72 recoder. I am looking to put my VHS-C movies onto DVD. My questions are as follows:
1) Is there a preference for which input I use for the recording. I can record off of my camcorder directly or put the VHS-C in the adapter and use a standard 4 head VHS player as my input.
2) The DVDDR 72 gives me 4 speeds, 1x (1 hour) , 2.5x(2.5 hours), 4x(hours), and 6x(hours). While the instruction manual says that 1x gives the best quality, will it matter what speed I use since I am using an analog VHS-C as my input?
thanks

Here are my sugestions that doesn't have to be correct.
1) I would use same equipment that recorded tape. I feel that it should give the best result.
2) I tested model 75 with MiniDV camcorder and I wouldn't sugest using anything more than 1hour. I saw big difference between 1h or 2h, but my reasons to transfer it on DVD was archival. For watching only 2h can be OK. But more than 2h is realy not worth of effort.Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
Use the rw to test the results, if it has a sport mode as does the dvdr75, turn it on,I have been using tape to the 4hr mode thru the rca jacks with no fast scenes and they are fine. Have been doing home videos to dvd in the 2 and 2.5 hr modes, look fine.
