  1. I have a Tv Tuner Card. I'm saving some of my favorite programs. Do I save it as mpeg 1? mpeg 2?

I would like to later convert these into vcd and dvd, mainly dvd.

    Appreciate any info.

352x240 mpeg1 is acceptable for both VCD and DVD, so you can burn it as a VCD now and easily convert it to DVD later if you like. As Ejoc pointed out, VCD is 44.1 KHz audio and DVD is 48 KHz so some resampling may be required if converting.

352x480 mpeg2 is a common DVD resolution for captured video.

The above are NTSC resolutions, if you're in PAL-land then the PAL equivalents apply, 352x288 mpeg1 and 352x576 mpeg2.
