  1. I have downloaded a few videos from Kazaalite that I wanna burn to DVD-R. I use Nero for music and I have the option to burn movies as well. When I try to do as such it says something about this particular extension and that it will only take the ones on their list.

How can I burn MPEG extension files using Nero 6?

  2. don't burn them with Nero until you've made sure they're compliant with whatever format you're trying to burn first.

Have a look at the What is section up there in the top left.

Video is not quite as simple as burning audio stuff onto audio CD's with Nero.

There are lots of guides and forum posts on this site which will tell you exactly what you need to do to get working VCD's etc.. and there's a lot of free software to download which will help you do it.

  3. well what free software out there can convert these files to VOB extensions files for example? I know Nero burns these types of extension files. I have searched for a program(s) that does this sort of converting but have came up empty. Which ones would you recommend?

P.S. im trying to burn these files to DVD-R/RW.

  4. i was trying politely to say that you need to do some reading on this site!

do you have a DVD burner, or are you planning to burn to a CD-based format?

VOB's won't do you any good for an (S)VCD.

  5. I understand that you were trying to be polite what im saying is that i have used this very site to look for the information but haven't came up with anything. I might be looking in the wrong places.

I already own a dvd drive (sony dru 510a) and I was planning to burn to a DVD (dvd video format).

  6. right - did you add that last past as an edit, or am i just not seeing very well today?!

Well, if you want to burn to a DVD, I suggest you look at the How to Guides at the side:

You want to Convert to a DVD-format, and then Author.

  7. If I burned these files as a data disk on a DVD-R will they play on my stand alone player?

You couldn't have read very much in the time you have posted multiple times and not at all to have asked your last question.

that depends what files they are, and what your DVD player is.

do you have a real aversion to reading a guide to find out how to do it properly?

  13. ok - try https://www.videohelp.com/convert#10

for a start - TMPGEnc is free for MPEG-1 (VCD), and has a time-limited trial for MPEG-2 (SVCD/DVD) encoding.

What are your files in the first place? (I don't think you want to tell us the names of them)

You say they have MPEG extensions?

Try downloading gSpot and/or MPEGProperties and see what they tell you about the files you have - you need to know what you've got before you can find out what to do with it.

    What size are they?

We are trying to help honestly, but you're asking us to gaze into our collective crystal ball a bit here!

    cheers,
