  1. Having read different guides and posts I couldn't figure out how to fix my problem.

Given: VCD mpeg file with standard video and sound
    Want: Burn it on DVD

    What I do:
The general approach seems simple enough and have worked with other files in the past.
    - Demux with TmpGen
    - Resample sound with SSRC to 48KHz
    - Mux again with TmpGen

    Problem:
    - Sound seems to start OK, but soon becomes ahead of video

I though first it was because of the sound conversion, so I tried different decoders/encoders etc. => still out of sync

Then I noticed that when I look at the original mpeg file in the Advanced Demux in TmpGen it shows that there is a padding stream in the file.

So I checked the video file and indeed its length is 1 second less than of the audio.

The question now is how can I make it sync? Is there a tool that will padd my mpeg file or should I introduce an audio delay? But by what time?
Also isn't it strange that my muxed file appear to start in sync, so a global time shift woulnd't help perhaps?

    Any thoughts are appreciated!

It is strange - yet there is a reason..... See my ramblings:

Audio/Video out of Sync. Why? Well...
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

  3. Excellent! Thanks for good links! This forum is so vast that is so difficult to find the exact answers.

I'm definitely going to try this Surefire method, though I still don't see what the key step is? Is it the fact that you re-enode the whole film to the TempGen template? Cause I tried SVCD2DVD on its own and it still had the same problems.

So, how exactly TmpGen does correct the time stamp thingy that it is then possible to successfully remux streams?

    Thanks.
