    Hi there, I've got a NEC ND 1300a DVd Burner and I use Nero to back up some data files, I was just wondering does anyone share the same experience as me where yo can only burn up to 4.5G?I'm not sure If I want to Overburn as this could damage the Driver. Please advise me

    How much are you expecting to be able to burn to a DVD-R?

    a 4.7G DVD only holds about 4.38G of data. the rest is taken up by the formatting.

    I dunno about the previous answer ..The simple truth is a DVD isnt and never has been 4.7 GB , simply because 1 GB isnt 1000 MB ..its 1024 !
