  1. Hi All,

Could anyone please advise. I have deleted an original video file from my hard drive by mistake. However, I have a VCD which I made earlier. Is it possible to rip the VCD back to my hard drive as an mpeg/avi etc so that I can do further editing.

    Many Thanks In Advance.

  2. as far as I remember VCDGear can convert the .dat file on your VCD back into an MPEG.

However, unless you just want to cut/splice the MPEG, there's not much editing you can do to it without having to re-encode; and if you do that you'll lose quality.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

There's several ways you can do this. I'd go for VcdEasy. In the tools section there's an option to disassemble a (S)VCD. You could also use IsoBuster.
