I helped Keanu at a store I worked at 10 years ago and he IS an airhead, either that or he was high on something.I can't help but think of "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" when I see him in a movie:"All we are is dust in the wind".

I surely hope this isnt one of those times we are arguing the same point and don't realize it but....

My understanding was the other ones took the other door. The reason neo (only one Neo, but many Ones) took the door he did was love.

When you consider the factors that makes the one the one (aka what makes him reject the system) then he is unlikely to make the choice Neo did, once the truth is revealed to make a choice that will once and for all destory everyone. Neo is different however, he chose the woman he loves and hope over a garrenteed continuance of mankind.

I kind figured any Glitches in the matrix was because of the Smith Corruption in the 3rd movie, not because of its being reloaded. Without someone to continue zion and until the rebels are destoryed there is no reason to bother reloading it. Its currently without a secondary control method.

Edit: My co worker however agrees that each one took the same door. He suggest that the look on the Arcitechs face when he chooses is along the lines of "Oh no, not again..." YMMV

Ok, after reading up on some more of the theories out there it seems there is good evidence either way. There really is a strong case to be made for either version.

    http://webpages.charter.net/btakle/matrix_reloaded.html

This site is great and supports your theory.

    http://users.quickfox.org/~ur4/matrix.htm#2

This site buys into the Neo=program theory and gives evidence for both of our versions.

You know, conceivably we could watch the 3rd version and still not know the answer. Ok, seriously I've speculated enough about this. I'm just going to wait until Revelations comes out before I say anything else. I think its really great though that a movie can be viewed on so many levels.

Yes, we've talked it enough without getting sick of it.
You see flaystus, even though my theories are based on yours it doesn't mean you have them right, hence the reason "...I can't understand why people can't get their head around this movie" might simply be that both you and me have it wrong
I'm a little clearer now, although still confused, as I should be.
All shall be revealed, at which point my wife will say "...I told you so"

Thanks again for taking the time,
    Will

Bill: OK Ted, George Washington, one: the father of our country.
Ted: Two also born on President's Day.
Bill: Three, the dollar bill guy.
Ted: Hey, did you ever make a mushroom out of his head--?
    Bill: Ted?
    Ted: What?
    Bill: Alaska.
    Ted: Oh yeah. OK.
    [thinks for a moment]
Ted: Had wooden teeth, chased Moby Dick!
    Bill: That's Captain Ahab, dude.

    What a great movie.

  6. I just saw the movie fully (damn i'm late) and the first thing I wanna say is I thought it really sucked when compared to the 1st. Now that I said that...I have read all these posts...and agree (without seeing revelations yet) that there is a ton of ambiguity. I can only speculate too...but I was more disappointed with the movie itself. I thought the special affects and plot were excellent..no doubt...but what really turned me off to it was the "PLAYED YOU OUT" aspect of it.

What I mean... is that they REALLY..REALLY played out a lot of the movie. How all the bullets were shot at NEO....I mean..we already saw that in the first one...just because it was more bullets...come on....get creative...damn....and then how many times are they gonna show that guy in slow motion when he jumps. They heavily outplayed the fight scenes.....those should be RARE..and instead he's fighting a ZILLION AGENT SMITH's and meeting him throughout the entire movie. And like I said..all his moves..the jumps...flips..ducks....all that slow motion over and over...it was HEAVILY played out as far as i'm concerned. I hope revelations is better..but it doesn't look like it will be. I'll have to see it soon..while this one is fresh in my mind.

Yeah, it was exciting at the time but nothing like the first and after the second viewing I just feel there should have been two longer movies but hell, maybe the director's are trying to maintain their position in the dvdrhelp poll; "what's your favourite trilology?"
Man, it's sooooo tempting to go look in that revelations thread, but I won't.
    I won't, I won't, I won't.
I asked a pal what he thought of it (without giving anything away) and he said 6/10
We shall see, in a week or so.

Yep....it's almost always the same thing...the first in a series of movies like a trilogy..are "ALMOST" always the best. I think the Matrix is no exception...of course..I haven't seen Revelations yet..but just like you...I have two "pals" that saw the movie and SWEAR their will be another Matrix. I tried to explain that I read on this site as well as saw on the news where the director's said NO MORE...that was the LAST...but they still say i'm wrong and their WILL be another one.

Yea..it is tempting to go into the revelations thread...but just like this one..I stayed away until I saw the movie...so i'll have to do the same with revelations. I just hope that EVERY SINGLE time Neo jumps or kicks..they don't show it in slow motion....they REALLY played that out as far as i'm concerned. Oh..and Agent Smith calling Neo "MR. ANDERSON" over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER....well..you get the point...talk about playing that out. I thought it was pretty damn smooth when the Agent would say "MR. ANDERSON" in the first one....I have no idea why...I just liked it better then him saying "NEO" .....I guess the directors and producers did too..because every other word outta Smith's mouth was MR. ANDERSON this and that. Can you say "BORING." YAWNWNNN

Having seen the horrd 3rd movie, I'm now convinced the "reloaded" name has no symbolic meaning or "reloading" the Matrix overtones.

They were just talking about the guns in the 2nd movie being reloaded. Nothing more.

I haven't seen the 3rd yet so I firmly believe it does indeed have reloading overtones.
I'll make my mind up after I see the movie, and then I'll go post in the revolutions forum.
