  1. Okay, I have downloaded the trial version of VCDeasy. I have tried to open my videos I created using my Sony camcorder, but I am only able to select from the short MPEG clips that were created on my memory stick, right. So, I downloaded TMPGEnc, which only allowed me to view the MPEG's. I want to convert my DV to MPEG so I can burn that to a VCD that will play on most standard DVD players, so I downloaded Canopus DV Codec. Now I cannot open that application to use it! I am only a mediocre computer guy at that, and I am getting frustrated and tired. Please help me!

Well my suggestion isn't going to be free, but it will be simple to use (in my opinion). Get Editstudio and use that to edit you DV videos. Also get their mpegXS encoder to encode to mpeg1 or mpeg2 (incase you decide to go with SVCD or DVD). There is a demo for each, though the demo encoder has a watermark. Then take the finished mpeg1 into vcdeasy for authoring (chapters and whatnot). You might be able to find other tools listed in the tools section to your left that will accomplish what you need to do for free.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
