    i hope this is the right forum, if not mods please move, i ve been backig up dvds, for awile now all have been fine, i just tried to do 2 fast 2 furious 5 times, every time the mpeg was over a gig, ive used setting i always have, and even double checked them any ideas? using TMPGEnc thanks!

  2. more details needed I think - are you backing up to VCD? SVCD? DVD?

    What source are you putting into TMPGEnc - you say backing up a DVD, but how have you ripped the DVD? Are you frameserving with DVD2AVI for example?

    I would have thought it was (S)VCD you're going to, as otherwise a 1gig+ MPEG file would not be a problem.

    What is your usual method? Using the Wizards in TMPGEnc?

    Do you use Source Range to split the movie into 2 MPEGs for 2 CDs?

    If so, sometimes the Source Range behaves a bit erratically, and you have to set the start & end points manually (rather than just leaving the end at -1 or whatever the default is).

    rip using claddvd.net to get d2v and wav, putting single movie on single cd, i use source range to cut ending credits edit= making vcd

    VCD, SVCD, DVD? What bitrate? CBR, VBR, CQ? How long is the clip?

  5. 107 min long @ vcd std = approx 1.07gb //you silly arse
    problem with tmpgenc sticking to vcd std?? 8) even when settings changed.. update to latest version fixes this..

    ill try updateing in a bit, what could have changed? i use 0 to adjust the rate, i usally end with a 700-750 meg file and burn the vcd with nero, i have 2 hour movies already on single vcd
