  1. Hi, folks-got an audio problems...may be you could help me here...
I am pretty new in all this, so take it easy on me.
I have posted following message at google forums:
"I have this movie in DivX and there is difference of volume in
the beginning and in the middle. At the beginning volume is loud and
sound is clear, but in the middle volume suddenly drops down (sound is
still clear). If i rise volume manually (at my speakers) it's ok, but
    it bugs me...
    Anyone suggestions?"

    And I got following answer:
"Save the audio out of the file using VDub. Set Audio->Direct Stream Copy
and run File->Save WAV. The resulting file will have a .wav extension but
it is really an MP3. Rename it to .mp3, then run a MP3 normalizing tool on
it. After that, you can mux it back into the AVI using NanDub. Contact DVDR site for more info"

Now I know how to use VDub to correct frames, but do not know how to use it on audio. This guy gave me guide lines, but not more then that, so I was hoping you could:

1)Direct me to the site where I can read detailed instructions on using vdub on audio

2)Direct me to the site where I can obtain this mp3 correcting utility and NunDub

3)Direct me to the site where there is detailed explanation on using this mp3 correcting utility and NunDUb

4)Tell me what is better to use Vdub 1.5.6, VdubMod 1.5.4.1 (Vdub+NunDub) or Vdub_mp3_freeze? Anything else, that is not mentioned here?
I am asking this one couse once I used vdub 1.5.4 to mask frames and it caused dissynchronazation of picture with sound, then I tried Vdub_mp3_freeze and that went great-no dissynchronazation at all!!!

So, I remind you that I am new in that and ask for your help.

    Thank you for your time,
    Michael

P.S. If anyone got better way to fix the problem-please propose.

  2. Ok this is how you do it. Load the file in goldwave,it can accept mp3 no need to demux. Here it allows you to increase vol at any section that you like. You can see it graphically and also preview at the same time. Save the file as wav, then muxed it with vdub for avi or tmpg for mpg

As for detailed guide(manual), I don't know, never come across one. Maybe someone does. Played around with the tools,it should not be too difficult. In no time you should get the gist of it

  3. Good, all good, but the movie I am talking about is DivX, that means has .avi extension.
Now, before I use goldwave, do I have to save it as .wav or should I do it after fixing volume?

Start with Vdub, VdubMod NanDub) or Vdub_mp3_freeze are the progs you should use if you encounter sync problems.

You should load you wav into Goldwave, so yes as stated by yourself ... first extract the wav from the avi using vdub.

You do not have to extract the wave file from Virtual Dub. Just load the video into Gold Wave.

I stand corrected , didn't know that you can load the avi directly into Gold Wave ... cool.
But can you save the corrected audio and video with Gold Wave?

<EDIT> Must learn to read before I write </EDIT>
Save the file as wav, then muxed it with vdub for avi or tmpg for mpg

Nope. Just can save the audio. Then we usually load the original video with the saved audio into TMPGEnc Plus.
    Hello.

  8. Ho Ho Hold the horses here!!!
Now if I understand you correctly you take an .avi divx encoded file, load it into goldwave , correct somehow the audio (I don't know how yet, may be you could explain that to me?) and save it as .wav file.
Then you take the original file (which contains original VIDEO and AUDIO), you load it altogether with .wav file you get from goldwave and you get good file with good audio? Is that it?
Well if that is so-how come original audio doesn't mix with the corrected one????

You, however seem to know what you are talking about, so may be you have any web-sites with step by step guide on that? that would be great, couse as I have mentioned earlier-I know how to mask bad frames with vdub....but no more then that...

by the way what is the difference between NunDub and NanDub (mentioned in reply I got from google forum)?
