  1. Hi wonder whether anyone can help. I have spent the past two days trying to rip a dvd. I used various programmes such as dvdxcopy xpress, clone dvd, anydvd, dvd decrypter and dvd shrink. I always seem to have the same problem though. when it comes to burning the dvd, it stops with some sort of error between 70 and 80%. I tried various programmes to burn such as clonve dvd and nero 6. Same problem with whatever programm i use. any ideas?

What sort of error are you getting? And what burning programs have you tried?

  3. It could be the media you are using. Have you ever had a sucessfull DVD burn? Are you able to burn to a +/- DVDRW? I have heard that Nero 6 has numerous bugs. DVD Clone is a very good program. Record Now Max is also a very good recording software. Since the error is occurring at the same spot, it might be the brand of media you are using. If you can, change the brand of media, and burn something smaller to a RW disc, to see if the burn completes sucessfull. Hope this helps.

I had a very similar problem myself a few weeks ago, however i am now using a combination of DVD decryptor to rip to hard drive, DVD95Copy to compress the DVD data, and then burning with Copy to DVD...the result is great, i don´t make anymore coasters, and the film quality is brilliant...give it a try, then get back here if it doesn´t work.

  5. I had a similar problem.

My oldest DVD player (a Panasonic A350 bought in 1998) cannot read
the end of a DVD-R or a DVD+R if I burn it at 4x. No problem with my
    newer players though.

    I have to burn a DVD-R at 2x and a DVD+R at 2.4x for my old
player to be able to read the whole disk.

Try burning at a lower speed and see if it changes anything.

writing to video dvd was not succesfull:
    DVD write error (Write DVD9)
A DVD wirte error has occured, probably caused by a bad medium.
Please replace the medium and try again.

i will try using a different dvd now....meanwhile any suggestions are welcome
