  1. Hi guys I have some questions about a widescreen tv. First of all, my current tv just starting turning off and on. The picture would go out and come back. A tech guy said it would cost $500 to repair when I bought the tv for $900 3 years ago (Sony by the way- 32").

Anyway, I decided to buy a new one and I see all these widescreen tv and plasma etc. I was wondering if any of you have a widescreen to give me some pointers to which one is a good price or if I should get a 4:3 box tv again.

Oh and by the way and you guys recommend one that sears carries becuase they have this plan where you can pay like 30 bucks a month till you pay it off. I dont have to much to spend but this way I can get a pretty good one becuase I can pay with payment. So can you guys give me some advice. Thanks

  2. Well since broadcasted channels are supposed to go HD WS. A Widscreen tv might be the way to go. I have a 43" projection.

Bigger is not always better. I had purchased a 47" (Projection RCA) got it home and it was just too big. Returned it for a more expensive smaller projection (Hitachi). I was glad I did. Really look into were the set will be used.

Biggest difference was, the Hitachi has a better convergence set up. Convergence... get to love that word, cause it will come up a lot.

Don't be fooled by how great the picture looks in the store. The video feed is a HD loop. So even the worst TV's look great.

I just finished paying off my current set. I bought it at Circuit City on one of those 1 year payment things. Worked out great for me. Came out to around $250 a month.

I'm into watching sports and dvd's. Since a lot of the sports are in HD WD and so are dvd's, this is great for me.
If you are more into watching regular TV than dvd's, A regular set might be the way to go. By the time this whole HD TV thing catches on... you may be ready for your next set.

    Great sites to check out.

Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.
