I've got one or two movie files that won't play.

    Instead, I get:

I ran GSpot to check codecs, and it says DivX 5.0 for video, and AC3 for audio. Says I have 2 compatiible codecs installed.

    Here is that screen cap..

    What could be wrong??

I would suggest waiting more than afew hours before re-posting, it pisses people off and is in contravention of the AUP.
    As for your post...
....I sometimes get this and put it down the WMP being shite.
    I don't think it's a file.filetype (divx?) issue.
I had this with a couple of files which subsequently played fine with the ATI player.
    Good luck

Try VideoLan, it plays everything. If it doens't play then there is aproblem with the file. I like the interface of media player classic better, but for just outright play anything videolan is slightly better.

OH yeah heres the video lan link http://www.videolan.org/
