  1. How do I get the first "friend's disc" to copy/write/burn the same way? Mine is the second photo.

This is of course DVD Decrypter. the only reason I'm asking is because I burned a dozen coasters and nothing seems to work (on my dvd players) until I discovered this "difference". So I tried burning (with Nero) as a DVD-ROM instead of DVD-Video- yeah I know didn't help but I had to try.

Kind of at wit's end, anyone care to step by step me through this? I get how to do the whole burn to VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to disc with Nero with express and I tried burning with Record Now DX but nothing seems to work. So I went back and tried to docus on what's different. I have no clue now...

Not sure if this is on a related note, but I just discovered that some of the DVD+R's I just burned will not play in my Panasonic S35 which usually plays anything.

Upon further investigation I discovered that the book type on the discs that won't play is DVD+RW white the actual media is DVD+R. So I checked the ones that do play and they're all DVD+R media with a book type of DVD+R.

The discs is question (the bad ones) were from layer one originals, so it was just an ISO read then write with DVD Decrypter. There were no fancy steps in between.

I doubt it has anything to do with the media only because it's only happened with the last 6 discs or so. There were other discs from the same package that came out just fine.

So... I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way I can change the book type setting within DVD Decrypter? I want to force it to DVD+R instead of DVD+RW.

  4. Not very familiar with DVD Decrypter, but a program such as DVDinfo pro, will let set the default "book type" to whatever you wish, assuming, of course, your DVD writer supports bitsetting. As long as DVD Decrypter doesn't override the default setting, this will work.

First of all, unless your DVD Writer is a Ricoh based writer you cannot change the setting Book Type.

Second, you cannot just rip and burn bits of a movie. The methods are quite long but there are a lot of guides on this site to help you.

    I suggest:-

    DVD Decryptor
    DVD2ONE
    NERO/Revord Max
    TOMMO
