  2. I belive none at this time, but with the recent annoucements by Pioneer and Phillips of making progress in this area some speculate burners may come out around spring time.

  3. Short answer is none. People use to say that this is not likely to ever happen, and I think that's still true. The media (R&D only) has been made but still no burner, and if/when they do make it it's going to cost. On the other hand DVD+/-R drives are here now.

If you wait long enough something better will always come along

  4. The reason for my question is recently I purchased the Hindi(Indian language) movie which contained 2 movies in 1 DVD.

    http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/search.dll?srchdesc=y&query=2in1+Hindi+movies&MfcIS...ty=MetaEndSort

Initially I thought they are goof, b'cos traditional Indian movie length is around 2 1/2 hours and my first question was how could they fit 2 full length movies on a single disc?

Then I downloaded a tool (DVD Decrypter) to verify the type and contents of that disc. From that I came to know that it contained 2 layers (DVD-9)
    The size is 8,079,413,248 bytes.

Later I came to know that they are pirated DVD's.

That comes to my question, So how did they manage to burn the DVD-9 disc when the DVD burners for DVD-9 format are not available in the market?

Apparently, pirates have access to the same equipment major distributors do.

arent they pressed, just meaning that you would haev to rip the dvd and put 1 film on 1 dvd,and 1 on another.

  7. Yeah a lot of HK/Taiwan bootleggers have the machines to press out discs (not burn them). Burning would really take to long
