  1. I was wondering if there has been a way discovered to back up my PS2 Games directly to another DVD, and it will play just like the normal game??

the only way u can do this is if you have your ps2 chipped and you use something what can copy dvd's like nero 6.0.0.11 or higher. Try that an tell me if it works alright please. Neil :P

ANY program will make a 100% perfect copy of a PS2 game...

Except that the PS2 media are physically modified, so you WILL need a chip to play, unless you have some Sony-authorized burnables somewhere. (Hint - you don't, they're VERY closely guarded!)

Hong Kong had them in the PS1 days and they were legal from what I had read. Just illegal to export, so HK use only. But I never checked into it, chips were cheaper for playing imports/backups.

  6. you could also get whats called a swap disc and card tool. its like 35 bucks. you use the tool to open your PS2 tray and use the disc to swap out with a backup. you dont have to get your console chipped and you dont void your warranty. also there are flip top lids you can get instead of the card tool to open the tray. they are modified covers with a lid. so instead of pressing eject you just flip the lid on top and you have access to the drive. those are like 20 bucks. recordnow max is the best program for backing up Ps2 games if your hard drive is formated with FAT32. because when it makes the ISO image it splits the file every 1GB. some games are dual layered, but like only 5 or so? There is a way to back those up, but its more complicated. also if you have a newer version PS2 it handles DVD+R and DVD-r.
and not all games are on DVD's. if the game your backing up is BlUE on the DATA side, you can burn it with any cdr burner. If the game is SILVER on the bottom, then you need a DVD burner to back it up.

Yeah, all PS1 and PS2 games are very easy to copy. I don't know why people think there's some huge secret coding on the disc's or something. I just use CloneCD, and probably when they release a certain PS2 cough cough emulator cough, I'll get into "backing up" PS2 games. :P
Hey tandy, have you heard anything more about those new PS2's with DVD-R support built in? I heard about those being released in Japan, but haven't heard if they're going to be coming over here at all.

It looks cool too!

Thunder In Paradise, them PS2's what play DVD-R and DVD+R are out in the UK. They ahve also cut the fab nose down by 70% aswell and instead off going all the way through your PS2 to play a DVD you can just put it in and press play on your remote and it comes up. There like £150 or so and you can get them in black or silver to make sure it the right one get a sliver one. Neil :P
