Well,
first things first. I must say that the program has solved all my problems for the last 5 months............... until now.
I have a pioneer dv-606d and I need to apply the pan and scan patch. I also have a pioneer dv-333 which does not need the patch as it plays svcds no problem. Now, since the new update (last week), svcd2dvd apparently doesn't apply the patch so my dv-606d only shows the movie on 2/3 of the screen and even worse, my pioneer player (dv-333) only shows it on 2/3 of the screen as well. Not sure what gives? Any ideas?
Some info, movies created using tmpgenc template (svcd ntsc film) and burned automatically with copytodvd. I have tried this process 3 times in the last 3 days and it still gives the same result. HELP

do you want to post your log file?

Well Chrissyboy,
I took your suggestion and used the program "ReStream" and tried one of to things with the original mpegs before putting them into svcd2dvd. I changed the header the first time and deleted the header to allow svcd2dvd to add the pan and scan info. Changing the header caused the program to crash right away while the second try just caused the program to look like it was running but it wasn't doing anything. I let it go for a couple of hours and it was still adding the header.
Anyways, I know you are working on the problem.

Ok - I'll add the option of replacing Sequence Display Extensions. Currently SVCD2DVD justs adds SDEs. If SDEs are present it leaves them be. Existing SDE can be incorrect however.

Well,
Since the SDE header is being fixed as we speak by Chrissyboy, my question to everyone else is this:
1)Has anyone else had this problem
2)If yes, what mpeg encoder did you use.
3)If you didn't have any problems with applying the pan and scan patch, what encoder did you use.
Just curious

I am just trying to find out about the different autoring programs you can use if you don't want to use svcd2dvd's authoring. No thread has be done with respect to what the settings are needed if you have to apply the pan and scan patch (SDE) in svcd2dvd.
So, to the people who use a different authoring program AND have to apply the pan and scan patch in svcd2dvd first, what are your your settings for svcd2dvd and what are your settings in the DVD authoring program so your final product still has the SDE in the mpeg file and the resulting DVD plays perfect on your TV.
