  1. Hey all, I am using "MPEG Tools" to edit my MPEG-2 file I captured from VHS. I play the video, pause where I want it to start and hit the "Start" button. Then I play near the end, hit pause, and hit the "end" button. Then I hit run. However, it always adds on a few more minutes. I've tried this several times. What the heck is going on?!

To cut out the beginning and/or the end in Tmpg use the source range under the advanced tab.Ive tried using Mpeg tools to trim and it doesn't work very well at all.

The preview widow is off a little .
What you do is open the video in VdubMpeg, and mark
the start and end points and note the timecodes of both.
then in TMPG cut& merge you TYPE IN the timecodes
    instead of using the slider.

I try to open in vdub, and it says MPEG Import Filter: packet synchronization error. Does anyone know what this means?

It usually means you are trying to open an MPEG-2 file in Virtual Dub. Try Virtual Dub mod.

Read my REMOVE COMMERCIAL guide and find the TMPGENC ERROR guide at very bottom.
