I have 8 video tracks, created two pictures for a menu (with 4 thumbnails on each of them), converted them to still MPEGs using VCDEasy (got two files: menu1.mpg & menu2.mpg), added all the files to the project in VCDEasy.

At the Interactivity page I chose menu1.mpg as a play item, set Play once & Wait infinite options, set Next event to go to menu2.mpg, Previous - disabled, Return - VCD End, Default - play track 1, numeric keys 1-4 - to play tracks 1-4.

Then, for menu2.mpg did similar settings: the same Play once & Wait infinite, set Previous event to go to menu1.mpg, Next - disabled, Return - VCD End, Default - play track 5, numeric keys 1-4 (or 5-8 - doesn't matter) - to play tracks 5-8.

Burned a test VCD, and now I'm trying it on a standalone player (Apex 1500). It works but not quite correctly. The numeric keys selection on the first menu page (menu1.mpg) works just fine. But when I press Next/Previous, nothing happens - the first page still shows, though when I press numeric keys, the selections from the second page (menu2.mpg) work at that time, Next doesn't work (the player signals about that), Previous switches back to the first page events set. Looks like just the image doesn't change though all the events switch to the second page ones as they supposed.

PowerDVD on a PC shows the VCD menu and switches between the pages correctly. But the standalone's behavior is quite weird.
The most strange thing is that sometimes it DOES switch to the second page! It's happened once after I pressed Next/Previous keys on the remote several times, then I returned to the first page successfully, tried Next again - and it didn't work. After several more presses, I got the second page again, and again returned to the first one without any problem.

It's driving me nuts... It's already 2am, but I still cannot manage this damned thing

Does anybody have an idea what's wrong here and how to fix it?

    PS. I use VCDEasy v.1.1.5.2.

PPS. Just tried another VCD, where the two-pages menu was done by Nero - it's worked fine...

    It becomes even worse...
Now I cannot even create a simplest one-page menu, which works on my DVD player
Created a menu picture, converted it to MPEG still using VCDEasy, added menu.mpg and 3 video tracks, at the project Interactivity page changed numeric keys events to play tracks 1-3, burned a VCD.
Tried it in my Apex, and got a black screen instead of the menu picture
The events work as designed though - I can select 1-3 to play the corresponding video tracks.
And again sometimes it DOES work correctly - the menu picture shows.
I haven't found what it depends on - just tried to press Play/Stop/Play... and got the menu screen. Next time it was an empty one again... The menu shows correctly about 4 times of 10.

I thought it might be a problem with my player, but my old VCDs with menus (created both with Nero and VCDEasy) work fine.

    What's going on?!?!?
