  1. I've just purchased the Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition. But I wonder why they can't accept .ac3 files and .dts files which are so common nowadays!

Hence I just want to study how to decompress these files ripped from DVDs to restore perfectly 6 or even 7 (for 6.1 DolbyEX or dtsES) discrete wave files WITHOUT any downmixed process and distortion such that I can import these wave files simultaneously into Premiere Pro and Audition for editing.

Would anyone give me some useful suggestions?

  3. Seem like you are the one for some advice.

I d/l some dts audio file and the ext is .wav (DTSwav with dts content) I burned to cdr and ext change to.cda by default. They played fine on a standalone. I got a DTS audio Disk.

I have since deleted all my d/l files from my pc.Stupid of me!!! Now I want to recover the dtswav file back in wav form (.wav) from my Audio disk. How can I do that. Please help

  4. Well, for Ac3 5.1, HeadAc3he can do this, though you have to run it once for each channel you want output. As for 6.1 or DTS, sorry, can't help you there.

I've never done this conversion but look at this

Lucky you, it's possible since a week. Search at doom9 for a file called dtssource.ax (and iviaudio.ax for v4.5). Open the dts track in graphedit, replace wavsource with "wav dest", add dump or file writer (and give the output wav a name) and play the track. Something like this should work.

edit: corrected some stuff, something similar can be found at: http://doom9.org/graphedit_wav.htm
once again never done this conversion, but BE SURE is supposed to do it

you need BE SWEET and SURCODE CD PRO to use be sure

  6. Sorry didn't make myself clear. Ok I try again.

What I want to do is this. Ripped the dts audio from the disk back to what it is originally i.e. dts audiowav (a certain kind of wav with dts content) The ext on the cd is .cda just like a normal audio disc but it's dts. Any one knows how?

Use EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) and make an image. It'll create a .wav and a .cue file.

I've done that that several times. It works like a charm.

    Cheers.
