  1. Ok I'm thinking of getting a dvd burner real soon and before I buy one I just have a few questions on the Plextor PX-708 (the one I will probably end up buying as it is the best burner at the moment)

Is there any difference between the external PX-708 and the IDE PX-708? (performance, reliability etc)

How good is the PX-708 at defeating copy protections? (SD 2.9, latest SecuROM etc)

Its on sale October 16th here is australia and the prices are:
    Plextor PX-708A A$565
    Plextor PX-708UF A$720

I have the PX-708A. Defeating copy protection. Maybe you can state this in terms one might understand as it pertains to the type of media. Should not be any difference between external/internal. Drive sells for $279.99 in U.S.

  4. I am talking about game protection (Safedisk 2x, Securom new etc).....I was wondering if this drive could backup these new protections by the means of alcohol etc

Sorry I can't answer that question. I mainly back-up movies and PS-2 games.
