CopyToDVD using 4x

I use DVD Shrink to shrink my DVD's then use CopyToDVD to burn it. It says that I write the DVD at 2x. I have that HP DVD writer 300i which can burn at 4x and using Memorex DVD+R 4x. I changed the settings in CopyToDVD to write at 4x but when I start the burn...it says its burning at 2x. How do I make it burn at 4x?

I've had the same prob as you but i use tmpg dvd author to put my films into dvd format (.vob) then i use Nero 6.0.0.11 When i'm buring my dvd's it says 2.4x write and i set it to 4x so try re installing it because that worked for me or use Nero 6.0.0.11 i would think if you reinstall copytodvd it mite work overwise try Nero 6.0.0.11 or higher and that should write your dvd's at 4x and it should write the film in about 17mins 30 secs depending on the size off the file. I'f this doesnt work just post a message saying and i'll get back to you if i can find anything.

hey...thx for the help...but...i reinstalled CopyToDVD and it still burns at 2x in about 14 minutes. So i burned using Nero 6 ultra edition and burned at 4x but it also burned in about 14 minutes. shouldnt it burn half half the time for 2x?

Something is wrong with copytodvd but if you are are burning a full dvd in about 14 minutes then you are burning at 4x. A full dvd burning at 2x is about 30 minutes.

I burned at a bunch of different speeds and it always sats burning a 2x so must be a bug...

I have problem with copytoDVD also.
It refuses to burn my 1x discs at 1x its burning them in 2x. It takes ca 30min to burn a complete disc.

I too have the HP 300i(aka 300n) and cant get 4x speed burn. I have burned over 200 dvds, all at 2.4x speed. Using, NERO, RECORDNOW, TMPGENC, ULEAD......all at 2.4x....

HP tells me there is no firmware yet that will support 4x speed burn on this model yet, but the jokers are selling it as 4x speed burner.....

Anyone know what firmware I can use to get the 4x speed burn?

Im open to suggestions.
