Thanks BJ. I know Sonnam very well. Also the occasional deal can be had at Filtech computers. It's located in that general College/Spadina area.

    Followup<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
RE warranty and satellite...seems this product rarely has a prob.
Dig. cameras/camcorders and perhaps DVD recorders ...(not sure about recorders but warranty and upgraded warranties generally recommended)

The cost to repair a camcorder is very expensive.

    NEWS/NOTES<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
The latest Cons. Reports Nov...is out and features dig. cam/camcorders/home theatre systems/speakers.

Recording VHS from DVD...a writer from C-Net? wrote..."why would anyone ever want to make a VHS tape from a DVD"
Well smart guy....NOT EVERYONE HAS A DVD PLAYER and tapes can be used many times. There are a lot of lousy movies out there.
I record a lot of movies from DVD's and from that other source onto tape for family and friends.
My point on this point....Hy and Zels Canada...has a good deal on blank JVC..VHS 120 ......99c +15c tx. Limit 6 but do another followup purchase for 6 more.

IGA...Canada ...has DVD movies for $5.. Dont know if any r any good.

you're VERY FIRST post wasn't promoting NBT, and you would not have said you didn't trust ALL stores in Toronto and Chinatown you would've been believable. If you just want to inform people about NBT you would've included information that they're mark up was sky high on most of they're electronics. But they're service was above average, and reliable. It IS. But at those prices it better be. NBT has spammed so many Canadian electronics discussions that it's almost a running joke.
I just wanted to let people know about the $999 CDN price for Panny DMR-E80. I don't care if NBT has spammed sites or they have high mark up.

Oldfart13 wanted to know of a place and I let him know.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can about DVD-Recorders and have been browsing sites like this for info and this was the 1st time I could contribute with some info.

Kromer Radio in Toronto has the E80 for $999. The offer very good service.

Back in 2000 bought a 27" Sony TV and found that there was a pink line showing when the back ground was white or light blue.

They send out a Technican to look at it but he couldn't find anything. So I called them back and they sent out another television and took back the one I orginally bought.

I might pop by and see what kind of pricing they can give me.
