  1. I am having trouble finding a cheap +R disk to work. Can anyone help.

    My hardware
    Recorder:Panasonic A06 drive
    Player:Sony DVDS25D
    Software:Clone DVD

    I have had 100% success with Infiniti +RW (10 disks)
    Tried 1 Inifiniti +R (failed) - (from an image that burnt to a Infiniti +RW)
    Arita +R (1 disk out of 6 worked)

    I dont want to keep buying +RW because they are well over 2 quid a go.

    Can anyone recommend anything or explain why some disk fail and some work.

    Another question - Why are there different coloured coatings ?

    Many Thanks

  3. But I have 100% success with Inifiniti +RW and nearly 100% failure with Arita +R. Using the same software and method (AnyDVD + CloneDVD)

    It am trying Arita +RW and now they work OK (3 out of 4 and I suspect the failure was down to a scratch on the blank)

    In general the purple coated DVDs are failing yet the blue ones are working whether they be +R or +RW.

    I tried an Infiniti +r (purple coating) and it failed yet as I mentioned above the Infiniti +RW(blue) work 100%.

    Definately nothing wrong with the way I am using the software.

    What do you reckon ?

    Why do people want bargain basement discs?

    PAY THE DAMN DOLLAR EACH FOR RITEKS.

    Infiniti = Shitfiniti.

    Arita = Shita.

    Any disc that has a "cool name" and costs less than a dollar is SHIT.

    BUY RITEK DAMMIT.

  5. Sorry Gurm you are wrong.

    First of all Arita are actually manufactured by Ritek.

    Secondly you can have just as many duds with expensive media as you can with blanks, the trick is to find the cheapest media that works for your DVD drives(s) and stick with it. I know that Infiniti +RW or Arita +RW work fine but am trying to work out why an Inifiniti +R or Arita +R does not.

    Try a different burning app.
    Might sound stupid but I've experianced simlar probs
    for example with my setup TMPGEnc DVD Author to +rw works but to -r I get a coaster (same project)
    So I burn with nero and no probs -+r/rw.
