    I am capturing HI8 tapes with the AIW 9700 Pro and there is a line almost at the bottom of the picture which is distorted. I have try serveral codecs and different qualities which doesn't seem to help. When I am capturing with ATI software it doesn't appear but in playback it does. It also appears when I capture with Ulead 7 or Studio 8. I need some help Please. I have the latest ATI drivers. I just can't figure it out.

    3.06ghz HT
    AIW 9700 PRO
    1 GB Corsair
    DVD-R Sony DRU500a

    That sounds like overscan. Is it going to be watched on TV? If so, they will not show. All TVs "cut off" edges. The amount varies. If burning to DVD use a RW first so you can check it.

    I thought of that also and so I did that but my dvd player couldn't read DVD-RW. So I'll have to try on a normal DVD disk.
