  1. I've copied some old Super8 films to VHS, then captured them to my computer and edited them. Burned them to CD-RW and they play great on my livingroom DVD player. Took the same disk to my daughters and played it and it is jerky, stops playing for a second and restarts.
My player is very very basic and will only play CD-RW and DV-RW. I burned this with my CD burner software.
What, if anything, can I do to get it to play properly on her DVD player?
Are there some settings I can change on hers to get it to display properly?

  2. AFAIK there is nothing you can do to her player that will help, however you could try different media maybe burnit to CDr or even a dvd if possible. Sometimes lowering the bitrate, raising the Bitrate. make sure the VCD is absolutely to spec. check out her player in the list of dvdplayers.

The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

  3. I am afraid thats life. Different players handle VCD's and recordable media differently. Some will play anything, others play nothing but pressed discs, and price or brand name is no guarantee either. Take RabidDog's advice and experiment with different brands of media.
