  1. I have an avi file I want to convert to mpg. Sounds simple, but it is not.
The avi file is or has been encoded using XVID Mpeg4. So how do I convert that to vcd please. I have looked, maybe not hard enough, on this site for any info but can't see at the mo'

    Thanks

Well, it seems to me if you want information on how to convert something, you go to the Convert section at left. If the final product is to be a VCD, look for Convert to VCD in that same section. Anyway, click here.

  3. Ok thanks. I looke a bit harder this time, and found a topic relating to what the avi is...XVID Mpeg4
Following the howto, I loaded the said avi file into TMPGenc as video only, the started encodeing, but TMPGenc crashed after 2.52 minutes of the film. So there is something wrong with the video??? Is it scrap or can it be repaired?
    Thanks

Check the video by using the guide to removing bad frames without losing audio synch.
