yep, I'm bloody sick of it crashing at 90% complete of a conversion, it's demux capabilites are superb, it's authoring abilities are great, but it can't convert an avi to save it's life, and the only help I can get in the ffmpegX forum is wait for the next version or convert my movies beforehand using DIVX Doctor, which doesn't always work. So if anyone has any easy to use ways around converting an avi to MPEG, either 1 or 2, or even to MOV besides DIvx Dr. I'd sure appreciate the pointers.

QuickTime works for me sometimes, if I've got jerkey playback though, I have a feeling my final product will be the same, whatever happened to DivX Validator? I used to have it in OS9, and it worked great to make bad playback smooth in Quicktime, it's supposedly a part of the whole Divx setup, but I can't locate it now, if you know where I can find it that'd be awesome!! Then I can use Quicktime no matter what to convert my AVI's, slow, but I know it works...
