Somehow this piece of crap called 'Dot Com Toolbar' got installed on my computer. When it tried to install I clicked 'No' but it got installed anyway. It tried to install several times, I hope in my frenzy of trying to close a flood of pop-ups I didn't accidenatlly click 'yes' somehow. I uninstalled it but it didn't remove everything (of course) so I ran Ad-Aware, which found and removed some crap. It also changed my start-up page to it's page, which was easily fixed. It seems not to be running anymore but if I accidentally mistype a URL I'm back at their page again. Is there some way to completely get rid of this? I'm at the point of wiping my system and re-installing. A**holes!

Aha, found 'redirect.exe' in my windows folder and task list. Killed it. I HATE those things.

EDIT: Still didn't fix it. If I type a bad URL I still get sent to 'www.dotcomtoolbar.com' ARRGGGGGHHHHH!

I'll try that Spybot remover, hopefully it'll get it.

Ahhhhhh. There was a program on SpywareInfo called 'Hijack This!' that did the job. Very nice.

    Thanks for your help,
    Alex
