computer wont read just burned dvd

i just got my pioneer 106 dvd burner today and burned a data dvd successfully with nero 6. i put 3 gb or so of mp3 folders on there. but when i put the dvd into my burner and my regular dvd drive, nothing happens. the burner says that there is no disc inserted, and the regular dvd drive locks up the computer when i put it in there. i think it might be because i burned a multisession dvd, but that works for dvds just like data cds right??

well im new to dvd burning, and i thought that burning data on a dvd was the same as burning data to a cd. i have a bunch of mp3s on my computer that i wanted to back up to dvd so i could free up some space on my hard drive. but my computer wont read the dvd that i burned.
