  1. Ok, so I ripped 2f2f (over 4.7 gigs) with dvdbackup...Tried playing it in apple dvd player and it was just messed. Sound was off and the video wasn't the same as the original dvd. Fine, I figured I'd run it through dvd2onex and burn and then try. However, when trying to load it in dvd2onex, it says that it can't decode encrypted files. But I selected to remove all encryption in dvdbackup.

So, I got 0Sex and I can't select to extract to dvd-folders, I get an error. So I'm extracting to an .img.

Now, is there a way to load the .img in dvd2onex after 0sex is done creating it? Why can't I extract to dvd folders in 0sex? Why is the audio off from dvdbackup? Why does dvd2onex think kmy folder (that I made from the dvd in dvdbackup) is encrypted? (edit: this is user error, deselected box when it should have been selected) Thanks for the advice in advance....

(edit: I've ripped an .img from 0sex and am trying dvd backup with carefully selected settings...hopefully this will work. Encryption certainly should, but as for the audio *fingers crossed*)

Once you have the .IMG that OSEx makes, rename it to .dmg, mount it by double clicking on it, and then launch DTOX and set the source to the VIDEO_TS folder on the mounted DVD image. See if that works for you. One question: did you play the DVD with DVD Player right before using DVDBackup and OSEx? You're supposed to play the DVD with DVD Player right before you use one of the backup programs, so that DVD Player can authenticate the DVD, and unlock it. Barring that, the only thing I can think of is some kind of new security feature (even more powerful than the crapiness of that movie - sorry, couldn't help myself)...

  6. I renamed it to .dmg but it wouldn't mount when double clicking it. I loaded it in Toast and mounted it that way...However, I can't get the folder to come up in 'dtox'

Ok, upgraded to 1.2 and found it now, running the program now

on a few DVDs i have found that it is necessary to play every TITLE on the disc in DVD Player BEFORE running through DVD Backup.. i got those dtox errors too, and that is how i solved them.

  10. I think I had unchecked the remove encryption boxes rather than leave them checked. After I checked the boxes it rips fine. I also just ignored the audio sync and dvd2onex'd it and it plays beautifully on my Yamaha DVD player. Maybe it was just a bad rip the first time. Either way, I appreciate all the advice
