  1. I would like to know how to convert an avi that is ntsc 23.97 fps to pal 25 fps, and 29.97 fps to 25 fps. I have read lots of guides but im a bitpuzzled. I am able to encode the video fine in tmpgenc but i cannot get the audio to convert correctly. if i try to change it in ac3machine its too slow if i leave it at the incorrect fps it plays great in my pc and a few players but in some players the sound skips frequently.

It is obvious to me the skipping is due to a video with 25 fps and audio at 29.97 or 23.97, but i am unable to fix it. would it be possible to rip the audio, encode it to ac3 at correct fps, reencode to wav and adjust duration and reencode to ac3? or is that a bit too much work?

    What should i do?

    Hi Gazcoigne

You are looking all way around off fixing you video audio problem the easist way to get you video and audio in sync is by using virtualdub and tmpgenc. First off all open virtualdub and click on file, then click on open video file, now go to audio and click on full processing mode, reclick onto audio and click on compression and then click ok on no compression. Now click audio again and click on conversion and click ok don't change any settings. Now click on file and click save wave and save it to where you want it. Now open tmpgenc and do what you usually do but where it says audio put your wave file you just made there, now encode it and it should be a new mpg file with the video and audio in PAL (thats if you got it to encode it to PAL) and you should ahve no problems playing it on any standalone DVD player what plays vcd's. Need any help or you got any troubles just ask me. Note: If this don't work it means that you got bad frames in your movie that you are trying to encode.
