I'm using s)vcd2dvdmpg v1.1.1.16608 and the svcd bin files are on my hard drive. The results are basically I'm getting the whole movie plus about half of it playing in the same frame. Any help.......much appreciated.

    thanks

Check out the Pan & Scan samples: http://www.svcd2dvdmpg.com/SVCD2DVDMPG/Samples.aspx

This feature is only in SVCD2DVD v1.5 however.

Thanks ChrissyBoy.......still confusion on my part, I checked out the pan and scan sample. Would SVCD2DVD take care of this totaly or would I have to still ajust the standalone dvd player because its mentioned in that link that " For this to work you must set your player to 4:3 Pan & Scan before you play the DVD" (If my dvd player has that feature which I'm checking.)

If I burn the movie now that has the problem and ajust my standalone dvd player to 4:3 Pan & Scan (if it has that feature) will it work using s)vcd2dvdmpg v1.1.1.16608 and TMPGEncDVD author?

    thank you
    casba

Is the basic difference between s)vcd2dvdmpg v1.1.1.16608 and SVCD2DVD v1.5 is that SVCD2DVD v1.5 does the authoring as well?

    thanks again

once pan & scan info is added to the mpg streams you still have to set your player to 4:3 Pan & Scan . Your player will have it as it is part of the dvd spec. The samples are the same as those which SVCD2DVD produces. Indeed they we created with SVCD2DVD.

If I burn the movie now that has the problem and ajust my standalone dvd player to 4:3 Pan & Scan (if it has that feature) will it work using s)vcd2dvdmpg v1.1.1.16608 and TMPGEncDVD author?
No. The setting on its own does not resolve anything. The streams need the extra pan & scan info added.

differences are authoring (menus, chapters), pan & scan, auto sensing of source files, RIFF to mpeg conversion, large file support.... (off the top of my head)

Once again thanks ChrissyBoy..... one last question....when loading bin files or mpg files into SVCD2DVD....SVCD2DVD would detect that this info is needed (auto sensing of source files)?

    thanks
    casba

Most mpegs don't have pan & scan info. Currently, you tick a check box in SVCD2DVD to apply this info. SVCD2DVD will then add the info IF it is not there.

Autosensing is SVCD v's VCD or DVD compliant files over those files which need to be processed....

If this is your single reason for going to SVCD2DVD then i trust you have burnt the pan & scan samples & view them to satisfation.

Donation details are on the svcd2dvd.com site. See there re. exchange rates etc.

    yep i am the author
